A Few Blocks by Cybele YOung

Sometimes it takes a superfast cape and rocket-blaster books to get moving in the morning, even when it is only a mere few blocks to your destination.  Along the way, you may also need to catch a ride on a passing ship, fight a dragon or even save a princess.

What a magically tender tale shared with the reader by Cybele Young in her first solo picture book.  The story centers around Ferdie (Ferdinand) and his sister Viola.  They need to go to school, yet Ferdie does not want to go to school,  "Not now," he said.  "Maybe never."

Through the power of a very creative imagination, Viola encourages her younger brother to head to school, and when her creativity runs low, Ferdie jumps in with his own imaginative ideas to keep them going.

A rather ordinary event is visually transformed with the aid of amazing 3-D cut paper illustrations which lend a magical feel to the sweet story of the power of imagination, and persistence!
