Over in the Forest by Marianne Berkes

Written to the rhythm of the familiar "Over in the Meadow", Over in the Forest by Marianne Berkes and illustrated by Jill Dubin brings forest animals alive to children as they scratch like a turkey, build like a beaver or dunk like a raccoon.

Yes, this has been done before; there are many books written to the rhythm of "Over in the Meadow", but this book stands out!  The rhymes are fun and engaging, and the illustrations take up the full two page spreads and are simply delightful.   Berkes  and Dubin don't stop there however, they also include so much added information in the backpages about the animals mentioned in the book, extra hidden animals to look for on the pages, and tips from the author and illustrator to further the learning.

Definitely check this book out!   Not only will your child enjoy pouring over the pages, you will too!
