Felt Turkey Craft - Tin Can Turkey

Let's...Make...A TURKEY!   (yay!)   Ok, I'm not sure what gets me all excited about this tin can turkey , but it is so easy and fun to make, and so practical!  (as well as cute!).   Because you are using a tin can (or a small jar) your turkey can hold water and become a vase for some fall time flowers or even hold candy or pencils.
The turkey is very easy to make.  All you need is:  a can or jar, felt, glue (a glue gun works great, or else use felt or craft glue), scissors and some google eyes or buttons.

Wrap the whole container in felt.  If you have used a can and the top is sharp, make sure there is enough felt to fold over the top to cover the rough edges.  This you really want to use a hot glue gun for if possible - it holds the felt quickly so you can get to work on the rest of the turkey!

Once the container is covered, now you can decorate!   Add feathers - use a variety of colors; those that your child really likes.  Also cut out a beak and a wattle.  Include a hat if you want to make it a pilgrim turkey!  And be sure to add on some eyes!

If you want to try to make another turkey, check out the paper turkey craft or the wooden spoon turkey for some added fun for our little ones.
